Tea in the Gardens - May 23, 2010
Alums and Sisters of the Holy Child came together for reconnecting, rejoicing, and of course Tea! Guests were delighted by a harpist, raffles, and music and song by the Rosemont School of the Holy Child.
You could feel the Holy Child spirit throughout the day as memories were shared and joy filled the room!
   
The Second Annual Holy Child Awards Dinner - March 24, 2010
At the second annual Holy Child Awards Dinner, we honored John Alcorn with the Faith in Action Award, as well as Marie Kanne Poulsen, Ph.D. with the Holy Child Spirit Award. Presented annually, these awards honor individuals whose lives and work embody Cornelia Connelly’s spirit.
   
St. Leonard's Annual Spring Luncheon - March 13, 2010
St. Leonard's alums held their Annual Alumnae Luncheon at the Springfield Country Club in Springfield, Pa. St. Leonard's was purchased by Cornelia Connelly in 1867 and the Sisters opened, administered, and taught at St. Leonard's in Philadelphia, PA from 1867 to 1982.
   
Sharon All Class Reunion - October 29, 2009
The Sharon all class reunion was held at Maggiano’s Restaurant in King of Prussia. The reunion was held for those in the Classes of 1939, 1944, 1949, 1954, 1959, 1964, 1969; however, many classes used this reunion as an opportunity to reconnect with their former classmates. The reunion also recognized, Response-Ability, a ministry of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus, for their great work placing volunteer teachers in schools with unmet needs in Philadelphia, Pa; Los Angeles, Calif.; Washington, D.C.; Dominican Republic; and Santiago, Chile.
   
Bicentennial Closing Liturgy - October 11, 2009
The final event for the Bicentennial Celebration for Cornelia Connelly was a special Mass at New Sharon in Rosemont, PA, during which we remembered, honored, and thanked benefactors of the Cornelian Society. These benefactors have informed us that the Society is remembered in their wills or trust arrangements. In addition to members of the Cornelian Society, guests included the Bicentennial Honorary Committee and Mission Advancement Advisory Board. Brunch followed the Mass.
   
Celebration at St. Mary's - October 4, 2009
In honor of the beginning of St. Mary’s parish 100th Anniversary Celebration and the 200th Anniversary of the birth of Cornelia Connelly, a Liturgy was celebrated at St. Mary's in Melrose, Mass. followed by a reception. The Sisters of the Holy Child taught at St. Mary’s School in Melrose, Mass. from 1909-1982. Today, Sisters of the Holy Child continue to serve the parish.
   

Inaugural Holy Child Awards Dinner - April 30, 2009
At the inaugural Awards Dinner, we honored two individuals, J. Gordon Cooney, Jr., Esq. and Mary Evelyn Tucker, Ph.D. with the Faith in Action Award, as well as John F. Connolly, Jr. with the Holy Child Spirit Award. Presented annually, these awards honor individuals whose lives and work embody Cornelia Connelly’s spirit.
